COVID-19 Update - Club group training suspended until further notice

Updated: Mar 18, 2020

Update 17/03/20: in order for club members to continue training on their own outside of the group club environment, we will continue to post each week's scheduled training session on the website. Please feel free to stay connected with club members on social media. We also have a Datchet Dashers club in Strava. Please do not meet at the clubhouse or run in groups.

Dear Dashers

It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that we are suspending all official club training sessions with immediate effect. The new Government advice is quite clear that we should avoid social contact and unnecessary travel, so I think it would be irresponsible for us to continue.

Those of you who know me know I am very a much a 'keep calm and carry on' person, but we are facing an unprecedented situation so we need to do whatever we can to keep people safe. I would hate to think that someone in the club who may not even realise they are infected could accidentally pass it on during a club session (where we tend to breathe very heavily), and hence indirectly infect friends and relatives of other club members who may not have the same level of health & fitness.

We will monitor the situation and announce a restart date as soon as the advice indicates it is safe, but I would be quite surprised if this was earlier than late June or early July.

Regards

David Priddy
