5k Time Trial

Last Tuesday of the Month 5k Time Trial

From September to April on the last Tuesday of every month we run a 5k Time Trial. It's not a race, more an opportunity to run an accurate 5k at whatever effort level or speed you want. These are also a very good method of gauging your fitness; for example, one of the traditional ways to run time-trials is to run each one at the same heart-rate or effort level, then compare your times from run-to-run: if you run quicker for the same heart-rate then you are fitter! (assuming similar weather conditions).

During the summer months (May to August) this event is suspended owing to the summer 5k series giving plenty of opportunity for runners to race 5k.

The Route

We always start at the junction of Park Street and St Albans Street, by the Irish Guards statue, and the course heads down Sheet Street, along the Kings Road, then down Albert Road to Old Windsor and back.

We're currently looking for an alternative route for the time trial, so if you have any ideas on this, please contact the chairman at chairman@datchetdashers.com
