This is NOT the night to wear lycra!

Friday 28 January was in the Dashers calendar not as another run but as the night when we could celebrate the achievements of the club and its members.

Our running year had a delayed start as we were in lockdown but our members were able to organise informal runs with a few others while observing government restrictions.

What a joy when we were able to organise our summer relay event - we had a full turnout, a beautiful evening and an amazing team of Dashers volunteers. It was a little bit of normality in (at that point) an otherwise strange time.

Our Tuesday and Thursday training sessions resumed in late summer and, perhaps predictably, we saw great turnouts at each.

We were able to participate in the Summer 5K series which went ahead with varying degrees of restrictions. It was still good to be running and competing with friends from other local running clubs. The winter cross country season has just ended and we fielded great teams at each event. If ever we recognised and appreciated the benefits and joy of running with friends, it was 2021 and so it was only fitting that we celebrated in style at the Castle Hotel in Windsor, ironically we run past this hotel on one of our training routes!

We all had our own goals and aims and we all worked towards them - in many ways we all won. However, we do have some club trophies which are awarded for specific events and achievements. The trophies and recipients are listed below.

Congratulations on your 2021 achievements, we’re now looking forward to 2022!
