5K Race Summer Series
Thames Valley Association of Running Clubs Summer 5K Race Series
This is a friendly, low-key series of 5k races that take place roughly fortnightly on Tuesdays over the summer.
The series is for members of the participating clubs only and their invited guests. Therefore the venues for the races will not be publicly available on this website, but will be circulated via the club mailing list. The participating clubs are currently Burnham Joggers, Cookham Running Club, Datchet Dashers, Handy Cross Runners, Hazelmere Runners (new for 2023), Maidenhead Athletics Club, Marlow Striders & Wargrave Runners. Members of Running Sisters are also invited to attend on a race by race basis. Cookham and Hazelmere will not be hosting events in 2023.
The races are mostly mixed terrain, although Burnham is largely road. The races cater for all abilities and are followed by food & drink laid on by the organising club. They are very social and a great way to meet and get to know your fellow runners.

Please read the rules that have become necessary due to the popularity of the races and the associated parking and manageability problems.
Rules for Entry
1 Each club member is entitled to one entry, valid for the entire series. Numbers will be available from the fixtures secretary (Colin Adams) on any club evening, or before 7pm on the night of the races themselves.
2 Each club member will be issued only one race number which must be retained for all races in the series. No replacement numbers will be issued, so remember to keep hold of your number. If you lose it you have to buy another one!
3 For ease of administration we have decided to charge £10.00 for the entire races series, no matter how many races you run.
4 Members of the host club will only be able to race in their home fixture at the discretion of the committee or its appointed representative.
5 Each club member will be allowed to bring one guest to one race in the series i.e. once you bring a guest to a 5k fixture, you can't bring any more. Children 12 or over can run as guests at all events except Burnham which is over 18s only.
6 All guests should be registered with Fixtures Secretary or his deputy by 7:00pm on the night of the race
7 The guest entry fee is £4.00 per race.
8 Club kit is to be worn.
9 Please car share wherever possible
10 There will be no single use plastic cups used. Please bring your own container for water and hot beverages, and if you can bring a plate as well then that will help reduce waste.
