In chilly but otherwise perfect conditions, and running together for most of the way, the front 5 finished in a tight scrap (causing some head-scratching over who exactly finished in what order! – use the comments below to suggest corrections). Neil took the tape with a stirring push up the final hill, and behind him Philip Mason got the better of dad Paul.
Behind the speed-merchants there was some positive and swift running, ranging from Dave Priddy knocking 40s off his best for that course, through to the sterling efforts of Jim Butcher who ran well despite being a little off-colour.
